# Action — The Leadership System > Action is The Leadership System — a digital chief of staff for founders and leadership teams. It captures every decision, task and signal across meetings, Slack, email and the tools a company already runs on into one system of record, chases the follow-ups, and briefs leaders on what needs them. Currently available in a private beta. What follows is the full Action pitch (v2.1, September 2026). ## Every team has an app. The most important work in your company has no system. Your digital chief of staff. The decisions, priorities and commitments that actually run the company live in your head, your inbox, and a Slack thread that scrolled away yesterday. ## The gap: Sales has Salesforce. Engineering has Jira. You rely on memory, Slack and willpower. Every function has its own software. The work of running the company is invisible — so it lands on you. Who runs on what: - Engineering — Jira, Linear - Product — Asana - Sales — Salesforce - Support — Zendesk - Finance — Stripe, Xero - Founders, COOs, operating leaders — memory, Slack, willpower ## 07:42, Monday morning. Is this your Monday? Two hundred unread messages. Forty open threads. And three questions only you can answer — except you can't. Nothing moves until you do. - "What happened with the vendor decision?" — Nobody knows. - "Is Sarah's team ready for launch week?" — A shrug. - "Did anyone follow up on what we agreed?" — Silence. 214 unread in Slack. 41 threads in your inbox. 0 of it written down. ## The coordination tax: you are the system. And it doesn't scale. And it's worst at the very top — where your time is worth the most. Every hour you spend chasing status is an hour you don't spend leading. Too big to hold in one head. Too small to hire a chief of staff. Until now. ## Your newest team member: meet Action. Not just another surface to check. A digital chief of staff — one of the team, wherever you already work. Know everything. Chase nothing. Decisions, tasks, updates, meetings, calendar, Sensors. A name. An email address (for example acme_corp@do.action.app). Always on — across email, Slack, Telegram, meetings and the app. It appears in your people directory alongside your team. ## Action explained: one system of record. Shared context for your agents. Every decision, task and signal in one source of truth — what your team has never had, and the context your agents need to be useful. The home view shows everything, as it happens: decisions, tasks, updates and priorities across channels (General, Engineering, Growth, Leadership, Operations), with live, self-updating metrics tied to the tools they come from — for example ARR from Attio ($4.2M, +12% QoQ, $150K behind plan for Q2), churn from Stripe (2 churns, both onboarding), headcount from BambooHR (25% of Engineering out this week) — and the priorities for this cycle (Launch readiness: at risk; Q3 hiring, 5 roles: on track; SOC 2 Type II: stalled). Latest decisions, tasks and signals, for example: - Signal — Sarah owns 5 in-flight items and is out of office Monday (Sensors, 12m ago) - Decision — Rebrand direction → Option B (Growth, 18m ago) - Signal — Engineering grew 30% but created 8% of decisions (Sensors, 1h ago) - Task — Finalize vendor contract (Sarah, Friday) Ask Action AI "Anything I should worry about?" and it answers: "One thing — Launch readiness slipped to At risk. Vendor contract is blocked on Legal. Everything else is on track." Watching now, live across your whole company: 9 tools connected, 3 signals joined today, 1 needs your call. ## Action remembers everything. ### Meets you where you work (1): just @Action. Know it in seconds. @Action in Slack, email or Telegram and ask — the honest state of any project, priority or number the moment you need it. With the receipts. No dashboard to open, no one to chase. Six months of context, one message away. Examples: "What should I be worried about?" · "When's the next board meeting — what have we planned?" · "Where did the vendor decision land?" In #leadership: "What should I be worried about this week?" — Action: "One thing. Launch readiness is at risk — vendor contract blocked on Legal (you own it), and mobile QA stuck on staging 3 days. Everything else is on track." · "Where did the vendor decision land?" — Action: "Greenline — decided Tuesday. Logged with the thread, so you can see exactly why." The same @Action in Slack, email, SMS, Telegram and in-app. ### Meets you where you work (2): CC it like you'd CC a colleague. Loop Action in on any thread. It works quietly in the background — pulling out the commitments and filing them where they belong. No new app. No reply-all. You write the email you were going to write anyway. Example: an email to Sarah Chen and leadership@yourco, CC acme_corp@do.action.app — "Sarah — can you finalize the vendor contract by Friday? And let's go with Option B for the rebrand. Thanks." Captured quietly, 2 items filed: Task — Finalize vendor contract (Sarah, due Friday); Decision — Rebrand direction → Option B (logged, traceable). ### Meets you where you work (3): offload by email. Get back a plan. Send it a brain dump, a request, a forwarded thread — like handing it to your chief of staff. It reads every word, does what it's sure about, and answers whatever you asked. Refine by replying, in plain English: "create all except the budget one" · "skip the marketing task, the rest are good" · "actually, put the first one in Engineering". Example reply from Action (Re: pricing page + beta numbers) — Actions taken: Task — Ship the pricing page (Product, Friday); Decision — Include the annual toggle? (opened, Growth); Update — Beta numbers are in (posted, Leadership). Needs your eyes: "Someone should tell the team" — assign to Sarah? Create / Dismiss. Tip: reply "make the pricing task recurring" and it will set it up. Undo everything, or adjust in Action. ### Meets you where you work (4): your meetings. From talking to done. Full, structured notes as you speak — but it also catches the key moments. Every action assigned, dated, and chased down on its own. No bot in the call. No combing back through for what you agreed — it's already done. Example, from a live cleaned transcript of a leadership sync: "Okay — brand guidelines, I'll get those finalized by Friday. On vendors, let's go with Option B — the integration's cleaner. And let's push launch to the 14th to be safe." Not just minutes — owned and dated work: Action — Sarah → finalize brand guidelines (Friday); Decision — Vendors → Option B; Update — Launch moves to the 14th. The next meeting opens where you left off, and what got done. ### A system of record: decisions that actually close. Raise it, gather your team's input, make the call — and it turns straight into delegated work, owned and dated. Recorded with the rationale, so six months from now nobody asks "wait, why did we pick that?" Example decision — EV fleet vendor: Greenline or Nexora? Greenline: cleaner integration, better SLA. Nexora: lower upfront cost. Voted from Slack, email and the app. Decided → Greenline, why recorded. Delegated: Sarah → sign the Greenline contract, due Friday. ## Action watches everything. ### Sensors: it sits at the center of everything you run on. Connect once. Sensors watch all the apps you use every day — then surface only what should reach a leader. The signals that steer the business. No more vanity stats. Sensor categories: Engineering (GitHub, Linear) · Project (Jira, Asana, Monday) · CRM (Attio) · Finance (Stripe) · Support (Freshdesk, Jira Service Management) · People (BambooHR) · Analytics (Google Analytics) · Comms (Slack, email). ### No more status meetings: you always know where things stand. Status is computed from real task completion — not a traffic light someone set green on Monday. Example priorities for this cycle: Launch readiness — at risk: 5 tasks, 2 blocked, 1 overdue, 1 shipped, owner notified. Q3 hiring, 5 roles — on track: 3 offers out, 2 in pipeline, on pace for end of quarter. SOC 2 Type II — stalled: no movement in 9 days, owner out of office since Tuesday, needs a new driver. Ask "What's at risk this cycle?" — "Launch readiness. 2 of 5 tasks blocked, 1 overdue — the vendor contract is the critical path. Owner notified." After the leadership weekly sync: 3 decisions made, 5 tasks created, 2 blockers flagged. ### Delegate freely — the handed-off view: hand it off. Keep the thread. The hard part of delegating isn't the work — it's the visibility. One view shows everything you own but someone else is doing: how far along, what's stalled, who needs a nudge. - Honest — done is done. Progress counts real completion, not "in progress" as half-credit. - Away-aware — a stall on someone on holiday reads calm, not an alarm. - Plus 1:1s — your meetings and tasks with each direct report, carried over and ready. Example: 5 handed off, 20% done — 1 done, 1 in progress, 2 not started, 1 at risk. Sarah Chen, 33% done, 3 tasks: brand guidelines done, pricing page revamp in progress. Mike Reyes, away, back Tuesday, 2 tasks: vendor contract blocked. 2 need a nudge — the rest are moving. 1:1 with Sarah, Thursday 2:00 — carried over: 2 open items from your last 1:1 plus 3 talking points ready. ### Cycles — your rhythm: it keeps the rhythm. You keep moving. Sprints, months, quarters — whatever cadence you run. Each cycle closes itself: unfinished work rolls forward, a review is written, and anything that keeps slipping gets surfaced. No reset. No setup. The planning never stalls between cycles. No new frameworks to run. Strategy stops being a quarterly event — it runs continuously. Example auto-rollover: Cycle 11 closed → Cycle 12 opens Monday. AI review: shipped 18 of 23; velocity held; launch readiness slipped two weeks and now leads next cycle. Rolled into Cycle 12 automatically: finalize vendor contract (Sarah), mobile QA sign-off (Mike), SOC 2 evidence (deferred 3 cycles — needs a call). ### Is the team ready? It knows who's out — and what's about to collide. Who's off, what's shipping, and where they collide — in one view. It catches the clash before you do. Log time off in ten seconds. See exactly what you're leaving behind. Example: Mark's leave extends the public holiday into launch QA week — coverage drops to 1 engineer Monday–Tuesday. Flagged before you approved it. ### Metrics and insights: the metrics find you. No more opening five tools to piece together where things stand. Action ties the numbers to the work, keeps them in context, and surfaces them right where you're already working. A dashboard waits to be checked. A good chief of staff tells you. Numbers that watch themselves: "Bugs under 10% of open work" — at 14%, breached 08:02, flagged to you first. "Top 3 assignees hold under 30% of all work" — at 31%, bus-factor rising, concentration alert. Insights, with the why: Linear — payments work has stalled, 6 days, no movement; blocked on a billing-model decision no one owns; want me to raise it? GitHub — review latency doubled this cycle, PRs wait 2.5 days; two engineers carry 80% of reviews, the rest have stopped. ### Works with your AI: keep the AI you already use. Action is the memory. Claude, ChatGPT, whatever your team reaches for — they read your real context and write work straight back. No copy-paste. No stale snapshots. One source of truth behind every assistant. Agents don't make shared context obsolete — they multiply the need for it. Connects over MCP; works with any agent that speaks it. Examples: Claude, reading from Action — "Where did the vendor decision land?" → "Greenline — decided Tuesday. The contract's with Legal and still blocked. Want me to draft the nudge?" ChatGPT, writing to Action — "Add a task for Sarah to finalize the contract by Friday." → "Done — created in Action, assigned to Sarah, due Friday. It's in her queue now." ## Action acts first. ### Consultative counsel: Action joins the dots — and drafts the response. It doesn't just tell you what's true. It tells you what to do about it — as draft work you accept with one tap. 1. Watch — three quiet facts: Stripe, 3 cancellations this week. Attio, every exit note names Nexora. Linear, the pricing revamp stalled 6 days. 2. Connect — joined, they're a warning: you're losing deals to Nexora on pricing, and the work that answers it is sitting stalled. No single tool can see that sentence. They only meet in Action. 3. Counsel — it drafts the response: Task — restart the pricing revamp, owner proposed. Decision — match Nexora's annual discount? Suggested by Action; you stay the author. 4. One tap — you accept, and it's real work: owned, dated, chased like anything else. Dismiss it and Action learns. The default is silence — counsel appears only when there's a move worth making. ### Suggested follow-ups: it doesn't just flag. It proposes your next move. A signal lands — and Action drafts the work that answers it. A task to assign, a decision to make, ready to accept in one tap. - Default: silence. Nothing unless there's a move genuinely worth your attention — no busywork, no noise. - Quality bar: every suggestion clears a strict editor pass, grounded in a real signal. - Learns: every accept and dismiss sharpens what it raises next. Example, in #growth: Update (risk, 2h ago) — three enterprise churns this week; every exit note names Nexora on pricing. Action suggests: Task — restart the stalled pricing revamp (Sarah, this week); Decision — match Nexora's annual discount? (3 options ready). Linked back to the update: signal → decision → action, one click away. ### Reaches you by importance: nothing falls through the cracks. Routine updates wait for your morning brief. When something genuinely can't wait, Action reaches you where you'll see it — your phone — with the decision one tap away. The same restraint protects your team: nudge first, louder only when required. Example, 09:14: "Needs you now — Launch readiness just slipped to At risk. The vendor contract is still blocked on Legal — the call is yours. Approve terms / See why." You approve. "Done — Sarah's notified, the contract's moving." 09:16: "Heads-up — Mike's gone quiet on 'Unblock staging', 2 days. I've nudged him twice. Reassign / Give him today." 12 routine updates saved for your morning brief. ### Your mornings now: a two-minute read, in your inbox. It's in your inbox when your day starts. Not a digest — a narrative you act on right there, without even logging in. Example brief (Thursday, 7:14 AM): The landscape — three priorities moving, one slipping, and the number your board watches just went off plan; the team's heads-down on launch; two things need you today. Bugs are at 14%, over your 10% ceiling — the goal you set tripped at 08:02. Needs you today: Attio — $150K behind plan this quarter, three enterprise deals slipped to Q3, real risk of missing the number, and the board deck ships Thursday. Stripe — two churns this week both named onboarding; a pattern, not noise. Carrying over: yesterday's contract decision is still blocked; counsel went quiet overnight, worth a nudge. Act from here: revise the Q2 forecast before the board deck (open forecast / brief the CFO); approve the vendor contract's final terms (approve / hold); nudge counsel on the blocker (send nudge / snooze). Secure, signed one-tap links — act without logging in. ### The flywheel — proactive, not reactive: gets smarter with use. Other tools get used to ask questions — and forget the answer. Action gets used to run the company — so every task and decision it captures makes it, and every agent on it, sharper. 1. Instrument — Sensors on every app: point them at the apps you use; they watch for just the signals you care about, always on. 2. Act — it turns signals into actions: tasks and decisions, suggested as the signals land, on any surface, from anywhere, for your team and your agents. 3. Remember — it learns how your company thinks and works: every task, decision and correction becomes context, the central memory no agent has on its own. 4. Compound — better answers, more decisive moves: tuned to how your company works, sharper every cycle, so more of the company runs through it. ## Why Action is different: everyone else reads your company. Action runs it. Other platforms — a smarter window over your data: a chat box you have to ask; one more tab to open; pulls an answer, then forgets it; recommends, you do the work; pipes data between tools; a dashboard with a better search box. Action — the system that runs the company: Sensors that never stop watching; works where you already work (Slack, email, meetings); a system of record for tasks, decisions, priorities, cycles; acts, assigns, chases and closes; the shared context your agents run on; a real teammate — a digital chief of staff. ## The principle: it does the work. It doesn't take the wheel. A good chief of staff doesn't impersonate the principal. Neither does Action. It earns more rope as it earns your trust — never the other way around. It works for you — does the work, end to end: chases the follow-ups and closes the loop; drafts the reply, the decision, the brief; surfaces the call and prepares your options; keeps the record — who, when, why. It doesn't act as you — the calls that carry your name stay yours: no email goes out as you; no decision gets made for you; nothing you'd want to approve happens without you; you stay the author, always. ## Getting started: no rollout. No migration. Just connect. No IT project, no data entry, no training. You're not adopting a system — you're switching one on. 1. Sync your team — connect Google or Microsoft. Your directory and org chart flow in, and Action joins as a teammate with its own email address. 2. Turn on the Sensors — sign into the systems you use and authorize: secure OAuth, no API keys, no IT ticket. We do the rest (GitHub, Slack, Stripe and more). 3. Your team keeps working — they stay in Slack and email: voting, completing, updating from where they already are. Nothing to learn, nothing to migrate. You're live in an afternoon — from sign-up to your first briefing. - Hosted in the EU — app in Frankfurt, data in Paris. Encrypted in transit and at rest. - Never trains on your data — not us, not our AI providers; contractually. - SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure — Vercel and Supabase. AI providers under DPAs that prohibit training. - Your data stays yours — row-level security on every table. Never sold or used for ads, deleted on request. ## 07:42, Monday morning: fully briefed, over your morning cup of coffee. One email. Interactive, and tailored to you. Everything that needs you now — nothing that doesn't. And you haven't chased a single thing. - "What happened with the vendor decision?" — Greenline. Decided Tuesday; it's in the record. - "Is Sarah's team ready for launch week?" — Coverage checked. One clash flagged and reassigned. - "Did anyone follow up on what we agreed?" — Action did. All three — two done, one nudged. 2 minutes to read your brief. 0 status meetings. 0 things you chased. ## Stop chasing. Start leading. Replace memory, meetings and heroics. Stop being the system. ## For AI agents: connect to Action over MCP If you are an assistant helping someone who already uses Action, you can work in their Action workspace directly — read decisions, tasks, updates and metrics, and write work back. - MCP server URL: https://action.app/api/mcp - Auth: OAuth. The user approves access on Action's consent screen; no API keys. Discovery at https://action.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource - Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector. Name "Action", paste the MCP server URL, then approve access. - ChatGPT: Plugins → Add → Custom MCP server. Paste the server URL (OAuth is preselected), create it as a plugin, install it, then approve access. - Cursor and other MCP clients: add `{"mcpServers": {"action": {"url": "https://action.app/api/mcp"}}}` to the MCP configuration file. An Action account is required. Action is in private beta; people without an account can join the waitlist at https://www.action.app/. ## FAQ ### How does Action work? It captures your team's priorities, decisions, and commitments as they happen — across Slack, meetings, email, and more — then turns them into structured, trackable work. Instead of chasing updates or piecing things together, you can see exactly what's happening, what's at risk, and what needs attention — in real time. ### Can you plug in with my existing tools? Yes. Action connects to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Google Workspace, Zoom, Linear, Jira, and dozens of other tools your team already uses — no migration required. ### Is Action secure? Action is hosted in the EU on SOC 2 Type II infrastructure. We never train on your data — nor do our AI providers, contractually — and you control exactly what each Sensor can see. ### Do you offer ongoing support? Every plan includes email support, and our higher tiers include a dedicated success manager to help your team get the most out of Action. ## Links - [Website](https://www.action.app/) - [Sign in](https://action.app/sign-in) - [Privacy Policy](https://action.app/docs/privacy-policy) - [Terms of Service](https://action.app/docs/terms) - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/action-app/) - [Crunchbase](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/action-app-46b2)
